Biography
Hoang Nguyen is the Vietnam Patent Head at Rouse Legal Vietnam, bringing a unique combination of academic excellence and deep practical experience in intellectual property. With a PhD in Science in Electrical Engineering and the academic title of Associate Professor, Hoang has spent over two decades engaged in high-level research, teaching, and advisory roles, both in Vietnam and internationally.
Prior to joining Rouse full-time, he worked as a Patent Consultant and was a long-time senior lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (since 2011). His major research focuses on advanced mobile communications technologies and networks, and ICT applications for public safety and disaster management. He also led and worked for research projects on other areas such as UAV communications networks, edge AI for agriculture, machine learning for network security, hardware design for IoT systems etc., which bring broad knowledge and values. Hoang spent several years conducting research and development in Japan, which strengthened his international expertise. He has also contributed extensively as an editor for various ICT-related scientific journals and served on multiple evaluation committees. As Vietnam Patent Head, Hoang leverages his extensive technical knowledge and international research experience to advise on complex patent matters, including prosecution, infringement, search, and strategic IP protection. His work is grounded in both academic insight and practical understanding of emerging technologies, making him a valuable leader for Rouse’s patent practice in Vietnam.
Hoang is the author of the book Routing and Quality-of-Service in Broadband LEO Satellite Networks (Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2003), a chapter contributor to Telecommunications in Disaster Areas (River Publishers, 2011), and has published numerous international and domestic scientific papers.
