IP Fair 2025: A Celebration of Thai Creativity and Innovation

The IP Fair 2025, held from 15–17 August at Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok, brought together innovators, creators, businesses, and IP professionals under the theme “Vibrant Ideas Unleashed: Igniting the Power of Creativity to Build Economy through Intellectual Property. Organised by the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce, this year’s event was a lively mix of knowledge, culture, and entertainment that highlighted how intellectual property drives creativity and economic growth.

 

Highlights from the IP Fair 2025

Royal recognition – An exhibition of works by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya was a centrepiece of the fair, following the conferral of the prestigious WIPO Award for Creative Excellence 2025 by WIPO Director General Daren Tang. The award recognised Her Royal Highness’ internationally acclaimed contributions in fashion, copyright, and trade marks, as well as her efforts to empower local artisans and preserve Thai cultural heritage.

IP Champions 2025 – Aawards were presented to celebrate those who have not only protected their intellectual property successfully but also demonstrated how strong IP management can create enduring value for their products, innovations, and brands. This year’s honorees included:

  • Trade mark: ตราเด็กสมบูรณ์” (Dek Som Boon) soy sauce brand by Yan Wal Yun Co., Ltd., with a creative new twist, unveiling soy sauce and Chinese plum flavoured soft serve ice cream.

  • Patent (Invention): Meticuly Co., Ltd. for its 3D-printed orthopaedic implants, a WIPO Global Award-winning innovation.

  • Patent (Design): Freshdoze with its innovative press-to-release cap for supplements.
  • Copyright: “Moo Deng” the pygmy hippo, the viral zoo star successfully commercialised through copyright and trade mark licensing.

  • Geographical Indication (GI): Khao Khiriwong Mangosteen, a premium fruit with distinctive taste and local identity, boosting farmer income in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

 

IP Mart Showbiz

One of the most popular zones, the IP Mart Showbiz brought intellectual property to life. Visitors enjoyed GI-based gourmet foods, lifestyle products, creative packaging, and board games, all showcasing how IP translates into real-world value and everyday experiences.

IP Fair 2025 delivered on its promise of unleashing vibrant ideas and celebrating the power of intellectual property. From world-class recognition to local success stories, the event highlighted IP’s role in driving innovation, preserving culture, and building sustainable growth.
